Before your appointment
A little preparation helps us make the most of your visit.
Where do you travel?
We serve Henrico and Greater Richmond, Virginia, with surrounding-area appointments arranged by request. Share your city or ZIP code so we can confirm availability and travel arrangements.
Are evening and weekend appointments available?
Yes. We work by appointment, with evenings and weekends available. Contact us with your preferred date and time; our team will confirm what is available.
How do I request an appointment?
Call (804) 250-1089 or email notary@hurtsignature.com. You can also use the email request planner on our Contact page to prepare your message. Your appointment is confirmed only after our team agrees on the details with you.
What should I have ready?
Have your documents and identification available. Let us know the document type and number of signers when you contact us so we can discuss identification, signing, and any witness requirements in advance.
Should I sign my documents beforehand?
Please ask before signing. Requirements depend on the document and the notarial act. We will discuss what you need for the appointment.
What if my document requires witnesses?
Tell us when requesting the appointment. Witness requirements and arrangements need to be discussed in advance. Do not assume a witness is included with your notary appointment.
How much will my appointment cost?
Contact us for a quote based on your appointment location and notarization needs. Any applicable travel charges will be explained and agreed upon before the visit.
Can you come to a hospital, nursing home, or jail?
Contact us to coordinate a visit. Facility access, scheduling, identification arrangements, and the signer’s ability to participate must be addressed before the appointment can be confirmed.
Can you prepare documents or give legal advice?
No. We are not attorneys and do not provide legal advice or prepare legal documents. Your attorney or document issuer can help with document selection and legal questions.
Is I-9 verification a notarization?
No. When designated by an employer, an authorized representative assists with the Form I-9 process under the employer’s instructions. A notary seal is not placed on Form I-9.
Does sending a request reserve my appointment?
No. A request starts the conversation. We confirm the service, location, date, time, and quote with you before the appointment is booked.
Do you offer apostille assistance?
Yes. We offer apostille facilitation for documents intended for use abroad. Contact us with the document type, place of issue, destination country, and deadline. We will discuss the process and quote; the appropriate government authority issues the apostille. Processing times and requirements vary.
What if my plans change?
Contact us as soon as you know your plans have changed. We will discuss the available scheduling options with you.
